Rule of Law & Security Studies
Legal order in contested regions
This program examines how legal order and security reinforce one another in contested regions, where the absence of either invites the collapse of both.
We study the institutions — courts, policing, and credible enforcement — that let stable, rights-respecting order hold, and the role the United States can play in strengthening them.
